The formulary is the heart of any drug benefit strategy, and in today’s competitive marketplace formularies targeted to specific populations are essential for creating differentiated health plan products. To structure the benefit to appeal to these populations, you need the right drug information and the ability to use it to define appropriate brand/generic designations, tiers and utilization management. In this webcast presentation, Tara Burkhart (Marketing Manager, Medi-Span) will describe the unique features of the drug information in Medi-Span’s MDDB drug database that make this possible, while David Smith (VP Product Management, Zynchros) describes how the powerful rules-based formulary management system in Zynchros Commercial Plan Pro enables clinical pharmacists to create, manage, and distribute these formularies throughout the organization.

Tara Burkhart, Brand Manager, Wolters Kluwer Health's Medi-SpanMs. Burkhart joined Medi-Span in January of 2003. A pharmacist by training, she brings more than 10 years of health care industry experience to her current role today as the Marketing Manager and Product Specialist for Wolters Kluwer Health’s Medi-Span product line. Tara works closely with Medi-Span clients to ensure they maximize the value of their Medi-Span investment and take full advantage of the additional content sets available from the vast Wolters Kluwer Health product portfolio. Prior to joining Wolters Kluwer Health, Tara was a Clinical Pharmacist for the St. Vincent Hospital Stress Center in Indianapolis, IN. Ms. Burkhart holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from Purdue University. |

David Smith, Vice President of Product Management, ZynchrosDavid has over 12 years experience in the successful launching of complex, technical products in a number of markets including Life Sciences. His work for Zynchros is centered upon taking the regulatory requirements of pharmacy benefits administration, the customer feedback of how they want to manage formulary data and the reality of technological capabilities to drive the development of the Zynchros.com platform and its modules, Part D Pro and Commercial Plan Pro. David earned his B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Adelaide in his native Australia, and studied for a Ph.D. in Statistics at the University of Lancaster in the UK. |
