The Implementation Manager is a critical position in a delivery team to a client, in terms of operational responsibility and ownership of making sure the project is being delivered on time and with quality parameters exceeding the agreed-upon benchmarks.
The IM guides the customer through all phases of the customer experience, providing expertise and guidance on Zynchros’ best practices for a successful project implementation. The IM helps the customer execute proper governance, enabling the execution of development and implementation strategy across the domains of people, process, and technology.
The scope of each project ranges from the development of specifications and prototypes to the sustainment and evolution of operational systems. This position includes project management through all phases of the life cycle from concept through final delivery. Solutions are implemented on platforms including Microsoft .net, SQL Server, Adobe InDesign, Quark, as well as Microsoft Office Applications. The position responsibilities include serving as the main customer interface, leading program personnel, contracting for external technical assistance if necessary, providing technical contributions on the project, and managing costs and schedules.
The Implementation Manager has the responsibility to ensure 100% customer satisfaction and success.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and interact with customer from requirement study to project deployment and acceptance
- Understand clients requirements & finalize them in a formal Statement of Work (SOW)
- Articulate and negotiate consensus on a final vision of the core project goals from scoping the requirements of all stakeholders including the end-user.
- Take responsibility for Project planning, functionalities and technologies
- Advocate customer’s priorities internally
- Manage technical execution of the project
- Act as liaison between development partners, Zynchros, and customer.
- Develop and execute consistent implementation assessment strategy with the customers.
- Define acceptance criteria or working with specialists in defining acceptance criteria for project deliverables and work towards achieving stakeholder acceptance of deliverables.
- Work closely with Account Manager(s) to quote and deliver service offerings.
- Deliver initial and periodic implementation assessments to customers and Zynchros management based on Implementation Best Practices guidelines.
- Provide proactive strategic implementation guidance to the customer’s management teams.
- Anticipate and catch deviations from a plan or schedule early and keep all participants and stakeholders informed.
- Work directly with the team members or with their team leaders (planners, resource managers) to estimate effort, plan activities and negotiate consensus among individual team members on their tasks.
- Identify, log, analyze and manage potential and actual issues and risks, taking corrective action by tackling day-to-day issues head on and reviewing how serious issues and risks might impact on scope, schedule, quality and cost.
- Identify where and when management of issues and risks or accommodating altered requirements will involve extra time or extra resources and where efficiencies can be made.
- Provide timely account status reporting both to customers and management, including project burn rate.
- Maintain all project documentation- including requirement specifications, contracts, schedules, project reports, communication (email) records, design specifications, meeting agendas, minutes and status reports
- Continuously monitor progress in terms of the status of the plan and the budget and report back to the Director and the client, via weekly or other progress reporting and by organizing and managing status meetings.
Requirements:
The skills, experience, and knowledge required to be considered for this position include:
- Experience working with external, commercial clients in a project managed arena
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Math, or other relevant technical discipline
- Minimum of 3 years hands-on development experience
- Minimum of 1 year experience in technical project or program management
- Prefer some experience as a development lead, or team lead managing the technical work of a development group.
- This person will work directly with clients, virtual clients, application teams, and tech services teams, and as such, must be able to work with people at all of these levels.
- Solid written and oral communication skills, with the proven ability to get ideas across in a non-confrontational manner in one-to-one situations, small groups, and before large audiences.
- Ability to lead and manage multiple projects is a plus.
- Project Management methodology is a plus (any type, whether formal or homegrown)
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States
Specific Requirements:
- Familiarity in working with: InDesign, Quark, VBA, Microsoft Office Applications
- Familiarity of various architectures: Microsoft .net, ASP.net
- Familiarity of various databases: SQL Server
